Dear Friends,

I know that all of you share my dismay at the difficulty we are having getting our state leaders to appreciate the importance of the pro-life issue.  We need to remind the people of West Virginia about the damage that abortion does.  The recent court case of abortionist Kermit Gosnell of Philadelphia has brought the horrors of abortion into the light for everyone to see.  He was found guilty of killing one client and three babies after they were aborted alive and then killed by cutting their spinal cords with scissors.

Sadly, a recent Gallup poll demonstrated that the majority of Americans (54%) were not aware of the case.  The reason so few people have heard of Gosnell’s horrific treatment of women and their babies is because the case and trial have not been covered in the mainstream media.  It falls to the pro-life community to publicize this case and educate the public about the true meaning of abortion.  West Virginians for Life will work to publicize the Gosnell case.

To help us do our important educational work, we will be having a big fund-raising event this summer.  The First Annual West Virginians for Life Golf Tournament will be on Monday, July 8 at Bridgeport Golf Course.  We are honored to have NFL football player Doug Legursky, and other athletes on the course to join in advancing the cause for life.  Legursky will be the key-note speaker for the awards dinner following the Tournament.  He and his family will give their inspirational witness about their experience with abortion.

We invite you to join in helping to make this event a success.  If you are a golfer, please consider coming to play golf with pro football player Doug Legursky.  Please let your friends know about this opportunity.  The registration form can be downloaded and you can pay online as well at our specially designed webpage.  You may want to sponsor this event or advertise your business by buying a Hole Advertisement.   We also will need lots of volunteers to help on the day of the event.  Even if you don’t play golf, you can come to help and join the fun.  Even if you do not golf, please consider coming just to the inspirational dinner at $45 per person.
