All human beings begin life at fertilization, when we have the human DNA that directs our development. Very early in development, we acquire the physical form of our human appearance, including all the structures that are part of being human. For example, at 22 days from fertilization the heart begins to beat, at week 6 brain waves are detectable and pain receptors are in place around the mouth, and, by 8 weeks, every organ is in place and personal fingerprints begin to form.
